Timeless Tiling And Bathroom Design Tips: Keeping It Fresh.

It’s not as if most of the UK population has the time, money or inclination to go about bathroom remodelling year after year.

But when the time comes to give the room a generous overhaul, you’d probably prefer to know that the result would be in-line with contemporary trends. The trouble is however that some fads tend to go out faster than others, which can result in you having made an investment in a new look which by the same time next year is already outdated.

However, while some would argue that this is just part and parcel of the whole decorating scenario, we think otherwise.

Quite to the contrary in fact, we believe that if you go about your bathroom’s overhaul with a proactive lean toward design elements that are more timeless than temporary, you can come up with a final result that looks as fresh and brilliant today as it will several years down the line.

Here are some  of our bathroom design tips:

Care with Colours.

For example, if you’d like to breathe new life into your bathroom by adding a little colour, do so with care. While there are no right and wrong colour choices per se, you’ll find yourself in a much better position to hang onto your choice of themes for longer if you err on the side of caution. Neutral is always one way to go, but there’s of course nothing wrong with throwing in the odd stripe, splash or mosaic of colour using the tiles of your choosing. It’s just a case of acknowledging that the brighter and bolder you go, the more you risk going against future trends.

Timeless Tiling.

One thing that never goes out of fashion when it comes to decorating the bathroom is tiling. This can be easily illustrated by the fact that we’re still using similar tile designs today as those that were used in palaces and places of worship thousands of years ago – ours just happen to be more readily available and affordable. It’s simply a case of choosing the right tiles for the job which have by way of colour, pattern, shape and so on proven themselves as timeless over the years. This is one investment you’ll never be sorry you made.

Go Minimal.

As far as fixtures, fittings and furniture around the room go, it’s wise to follow a less-is-more mantra. You don’t have to come up with a final result that’s sparse and boring, but at the same time the more complex and ornate options you go for with things like mixers, door handles and bath tubs, the higher the chance you’ll decide soon enough that they’re really not as great as you thought they were.

Last but not least, one of the very best ways of breathing new life into your bathroom and making it unique while at the same time preserving its timelessness is to create a simple tile mosaic of your own. It’s almost impossible to go wrong even with no particular artistic flair, but you can rest assured it will become the very centrepiece for the room as a whole and you’ll be proud to call it your own work.
